Data. People.
Better ways of working.

I help organisations make better use of data — and help the people working with it think more clearly about what actually matters.

I work across data strategy, insights, decision-making, leadership and ways of working, adapting the engagement to what a team or organisation actually needs.

What I do

Making data useful
starts with people.

01

Data & Insights

Data work is most valuable when it helps people make better decisions.

I can help with questions around data and insights strategy, KPIs, measurement, prioritisation and how data teams can create more value for the wider organisation.

The emphasis is not on producing more data for its own sake, but on making data genuinely useful.

02

Working with data

Sometimes the challenge isn’t the data itself. It’s how people use it.

I work with leaders and teams to improve how they think about metrics, interpret information, ask better questions and bring data into everyday decision-making.

This can include workshops, advisory work, facilitation or more hands-on support, depending on the situation.

03

Data teams & leadership

Data teams sit in an interesting position: they need technical expertise, but their impact increasingly depends on communication, prioritisation, business understanding and the ability to work effectively with the rest of the organisation.

I help teams and leaders think about these broader questions — including how the role of data teams is changing as AI becomes part of everyday knowledge work.

A developing idea

Get your team
out of the office.

Data Retreats are an emerging idea I’m developing for teams and organisations that want something different from another workshop, conference or offsite.

Bring a team somewhere beautiful for a couple of days and create space for the things that are difficult to make room for in normal working life:

Thinking. Learning. Talking. Reflecting.

A retreat can combine data and analytics strategy, AI and the changing role of data teams, team health, ways of working, psychological safety, learning and upskilling — with time for recovery, nature, good food and conversations that don’t need to fit into a 30-minute meeting.

The exact format is flexible. The idea is to create enough distance from everyday work for people to think properly about where they are, where they’re going and how they want to work together.

Curious about the idea?

About

Hi, I’m
Sophie.

I’m a Data & Insights leader and consultant who enjoys sitting somewhere between data, business and people.

I’ve worked across data science, analytics, insights and leadership, including leading Data & Insights teams and working closely with business and product stakeholders.

What interests me most is the part that happens beyond the data itself:

What are we actually trying to understand? What decisions are we trying to make? What should we measure? And how do we build ways of working that make all of this sustainable?

I’m particularly interested in the changing relationship between people, data and AI — and in finding ways of working that are both effective and genuinely human.

I don’t believe every problem needs more dashboards, more meetings or more complexity.
Sometimes it needs a better question.

How I work

No rigid catalogue.
No ready-made answer.

Every organisation has different problems, people and constraints, so engagements can be shaped around what is actually needed.

That might mean strategic advice, a focused workshop, facilitation, helping a leadership team think through a data question, working with a data team, or a longer-term consulting engagement.

The common thread is helping people get clearer about what matters and what to do next.
